GUELPH, ON, Nov. 19, 2018 /CNW/ - The Co-operators today announced the appointment of Kevin Daniel as its new executive vice-president and chief client officer, effective December 21, 2018.

Daniel is currently executive vice-president and chief operating officer for Co-operators Life Insurance Company and president and chief operating officer for The CUMIS Group Limited. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading The Co-operators client engagement functions, including sales and service, contact centre operations, property and casualty claims and client service operations.

Since joining the organization in 1986, Daniel has held key leadership positions in both our property and casualty and life insurance businesses, including vice-president of finance for Co-operators General Insurance Company, vice-president of finance for Co-operators Life Insurance Company and senior vice-president and chief financial officer for The Co-operators Group Limited. He has been an integral member of the organization's senior management team for the past 15 years.

Daniel holds his Chartered Professional Accountant designation and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Guelph. He is vice-chair of Connecting People for Health Cooperative Limited and has served on the boards of directors for the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association, Saskatchewan Co-operative Association and Hospitals of Regina Foundation.

He replaces Rick McCombie, executive vice-president and chief client officer, who announced his retirement earlier this year.
