GUELPH, ON, Nov. 9, 2017 /CNW/ - Announced today, The Co-operators has been named a 2018 Aon Best Employer in Canada, marking the 15th consecutive year the organization has been included on this prestigious list.

Awarded the highest rating of Platinum, The Co-operators, which includes Co-operators Group Limited, Co-operators General Insurance Company, Co-operators Life Insurance Company, HB Group/COSECO and CUMIS, is one of only seven companies to consecutively make this list since 2004. Another Co-operators member, Addenda Capital, has been named on the 2018 Aon Best Small and Medium Employers Platinum list.

The Aon Best Employers list is based primarily on employee engagement surveys conducted by Aon Hewitt that follow the concept of "say, stay and strive," affirming that employees who speak positively about their organization are more likely to stay and be motivated to contribute to its success.

The surveys also found that 92 per cent of employees feel that The Co-operators is a socially and environmentally responsible organization, and they are committed to fulfilling its mission of providing financial security to Canadians and their communities.

According to Aon Hewitt, the Best Employers ranking is based on levels of employee engagement, branding, leadership and performance culture within each individual organization. The Platinum level is awarded to employers that meet the Aon global standard, reaching the top quartile for employee engagement, combined with top results for two of the remaining categories listed above. These results are calculated based on confidential, in-depth surveys completed by participating employer staff members. These surveys highlight employee's opinions, identify key priorities and, most importantly, help drive engagement within organizations. This analysis provides employers with insight on key areas of strength, as well as areas of improvement, helping employers strive for excellence year after year.
