BURLINGTON, ON, Nov. 17 /CNW/ - The CUMIS Group Limited (CUMIS) has maintained its 19-year platinum sponsor status with $92,272.58 raised through its annual United Way campaign this fall.
In addition to the individuals who generously pledged donations, there were numerous events, contests and raffles held throughout the three-week campaign, which helped CUMIS to surpass its original goal.
"The scope of United Way is incredible as they touch many lives on a daily basis. Each of us has probably been affected by their work either personally or through the support of a loved one," said John Asher, Vice President of Finance with the CUMIS Group Limited and Campaign Executive Chair. "CUMIS is proud to be able to make such an investment once again in United Way to ensure that their vital support continues to be available when our families, friends and neighbours need them."
"We are grateful to CUMIS for their continued support and generosity over the past 19 years. Even during these challenging economic times CUMIS' commitment to the community is exceptional," said Karmel Sakran, 2010 Burlington Campaign Cabinet Chair. "With these funds, which will be invested in the Burlington community, we are able to continue our work addressing poverty, providing seniors with the support they need and building stronger communities. CUMIS is committed to our message that a community is not truly great until it is great for everyone."
